What do Halloween Candy and Overcoming Overwhelm Have In Common?

Abby is sitting at her desk with a mound of work to do. She is in the middle of creating a new program launch to introduce her new teleclass to her community. She is feeling overwhelmed by the many urgent tasks in front of her. There is a decision to make at every turn. She is not sure what to do since she has never done a program launch before.

One of our neighbors has a giant Newfoundland dog, Jake, who probably weighs 160 pounds. For Halloween each year, instead of giving out bite-sized Halloween treats to the children in the neighborhood, they give out king sized candy bars to match the size of their king sized pet.

Just like eating a king-sized candy bar doesn’t leave a child’s stomach feeling good, neither does the overwhelm of trying to do too many things at once leave the heart or head of an entrepreneur feeling coherent.

So what can you do if you are faced with a king-sized project? Begin by breaking it down into one bite-sized task at a time. Ask your Angels and Divine Team for their assistance. Ask them, “What is one small thing I can do to move this project forward?” and “What would make this easier?” Then, stay receptive. Take that next bite-sized inspired step. Then, ask again. Each small step adds up to forward progress and with your newly gained momentum, you will have a renewed energy to finish the king sized project and serve your community. Don’t forget to celebrate with your Divine Team all along the way.
