Article of the Week: Sowing the Seeds to a Flourishing Business
Even though it is the middle of winter (or maybe because it IS the middle of winter!) my husband and I are planning our garden. Growing up on a farm, I learned when you plant a crop (or a garden), it takes the right combination of inputs and conditions to have a fruitful harvest. Some things you can control, while others you can’t. The same is true with your heart-centered business. You need to cultivate the right conditions and plant the right seeds to serve your clients at the highest level. You also need to implement the right strategies to create a flourishing business.
How can you tell if you’ve sown the right seeds for your heart-centered business to really flourish?
Your business is an answer to a calling you’ve heard or felt in your heart. Some aspect of what you do really allows you to share your special gifts and unique talents. You are inspired by your work and by contributing to the lives of others.
You are continually investing in your personal growth and business knowledge. You are an avid learner and enjoy implementing what you learn.
You have a commitment to make your business successful. You have quality standards and uphold them consistently. You do what it takes to make your business work and fulfill your commitments, even when it is inconvenient or you don’t feel like it.
You regularly surround yourself with other like-minded entrepreneurs who are equally committed, supportive and actively going for their dreams.
You’ve made your calling and contribution more important than your fear. You take inspired action, even when it is uncomfortable. You have accepted that being out of your comfort zone is part of the process in creating a flourishing business. All growth happens outside the comfort zone. Think of a new seedling breaking soil. Each time we stretch ourselves out of our comfort zone we are allowing more of our Soul to emerge.
You keep a positive perspective with your mind fixed on possibilities. You think in terms of “How can I?” vs. “It won’t work.” or “I can’t.”
When you get discouraged, you acknowledge your feelings, but you don’t let them take you completely off track. You clean up the energy and patterns holding you back from fully showing up, even when it is challenging.
You have a healthy relationship with money. You aren’t afraid to think about it, talk about it, have it or invest it when money helps you forward your business and life. You appreciate the role money plays and the ways it creates more contribution in the world.
By creating the optimal conditions and planting the right seeds, you will be able to have a bountiful business, which serves you and serves the world.
